We recognize that merely giving food to children in various communities is not a viable long-term solution to the poverty cycle, and that is why we are also thinking and strategizing for long term sustainable development resources that can help bring the people out of the cycle of poverty.
But we also recognize that there are just too many malnourished and starving children just about everywhere you look to where we cannot turn away from and not seek to meet that need. Children need nourishment so that they can stay healthy. Children need nourishment so that they can focus in school. Children need nourishment so that they can become effective workers. Most importantly, children need nourishment so that they can grow in their knowledge and understanding of God.
To this end, we have started up some feeding programs in various communities. Currently, we are providing a daily high protein meal for about 250 children, including many orphaned children. These meals are cooked on site daily to ensure that the children are receiving proper nourishment.
