Video of Susana’s beautiful singing

Yesterday was exactly one month to the day that Susana went home to be with Jesus.  I thought that it would be a very hard day because of that, but it wasn’t.  I just thought much of the joy that she must be experiencing being able to see Jesus face to face.

I came across this video on my phone that I had totally forgotten that I took while we were in Florida on our Disney trip.  It is so hard to believe that just over a week after this video, she went home to heaven.  She had such a precious beautiful singing voice.  I’m sure she is singing her heart out right now in the presence of her great and mighty King!  Our hearts have been comforted much in the last few days as we get more of a concrete reality that our little girl is alive and well.  She is whole.  She is complete.  And she has become part of the great cloud of witnesses that cheer us on from heaven.  My little girl sees us and is our biggest cheerleader!  Oh how that makes me want to run in such a way that brings glory to God.

This post is dedicated to her Aunt Kerri-Anne, who taught her this song and sang it with her many times.  Kerri-Anne, she loved you so much.  The sleepover that you had with her in Florida was probably the highlight of her trip.  I am praying for you as you seek to draw closer to God and understand His power, love, mercy, and truth.   May you come to know further of the gift of  eternal life that is given to those who trust in Jesus alone for their salvation.  There truly is no other way.  This is what Susana knew. And I want you to know that she prayed often for you specifically – that you too would come to know Jesus.  Her specific prayer – “God, please help Aunt Kewwi-Anne become a Christian, In Jesus’ name. Amen”   I’m sure that she was looking down from Heaven on the day of her Homecoming Celebration when she saw you stand to pray to receive Jesus’s gift of salvation.  And I know that she is cheering you on in your pursuit of knowing Him.  Thanks for being the best aunt in the world!

  2. Precious little angel!!! No more words to say….just in awe of our mighty King and Savior…what a sweet precious gift He gave you….”The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21b My words fail me….. Still, we WILL praise You!!! Praying for you all! I sent a response email……

2 Corinthinans 4: 7-18 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

  3. This is so amazing. I was sitting just a few rows behind her at the service, certainly had no idea about the story behind it, but touched to the core at what I was seeing. God is amazing.

  4. Beautiful…

Thank you, Cody, for sharing these moments with us. I can’t imagine how much your heart must hurt. I can’t wait until the day when we are all together in Heaven with your precious little girl!

And even so, come Lord Jesus!

  5. Thank you for sharing that most special of moments. Susana was a child touched by the Lord from a very young age and she, in turn, was used mightily by God, to reach out to the world around her. Through Susana’s story . . .her life, her joy and her beautiful little voice, we could not help but to become better people.

I never met this special child but after praying for her for almost a year, I miss her, too. Susana is home and no longer needs my prayers but the rest of us have needs that can never be met by earthly means. So my prayers will continue for you, for Maria, for Isabela, for the new one yet to come, your extended family and friends and for all of us who care so much. Bless you, Cody, for reaching out to all of us in your greatest pain.
