I am so excited!!! I just booked my flight to Haiti and I leave in 2 days. Woohoo!!! Please pray that the riots do not start up while I’m there. I will be there until Monday. I am so excited that I will be able to bring all the gifts that have been purchased for all the kids in our sponsorship program. They are going to be thrilled!!! We are also going to be able to distribute the hundreds of gifts that were purchased by the mission team from Grace Fellowship in Atlanta that was supposed to come in December but was cancelled because of the riots. I’m also planning on having a Christmas Party with all of the kids of Victorious Kids Orphanage in Titanyen, where we are now ministering. So, this is going to be a great trip. I am so excited!!!!
Please pray for my safety as well as for Maria and the girls who will still be in Jacksonville continuing with Susana’s proton therapy treatment.
Family Update – We had a wonderful Christmas in Jacksonville!!! The girls woke us up with excitement to get down to business. We started out by reading the account of Jesus’ birth found in the Book of Luke. Then we each prayed and gave God thanks. And then the kids were off to the races. Thank you to those who sent gifts for the kids. It was such a blessing. We really had such a great time together.
After the madness subsided and Maria and I soaked our hands from having to untwist so many twisty-things that held dolls and toys SECURELY in their package, we got ready to head down to Orlando to see Maria’s family. From that point on, it was all about the Puerto Rican Christmas baby!!! We had an awesome time. It was the first time that me or the girls ever celebrated Christmas latin style. It was a huge party with salsa music blaring, people dancing and singing spanish carols, people playing maracas and other island instruments, people stumbling, kids running around all over the place, enough rice and beans to feed a small village in Africa, and a whole entire pig roasting for hours, looking juicier and juicier by the minute…hmmmm. Yes, it was definitely a cool experience, not to mention that the temperature was a nice mild 70 degrees.
Susana is doing wonderful. Her treatment is going well. It is very easy. It is all outpatient. Her hair is starting to grow back. And she is just looking great. We just continue to pray that the Lord works His mighty power and heals her from this cancer forever. Thank you all so much for your love, support, and prayers. God has covered us well.
