  3. I was looking for a blog on Haiti and ran across yours. I am a mixed media artist who features one new blog each day on my blog. I picked yours because of its timely and honest evaluation of the situation in Haiti. Thank you for sharing your experiences there. I wish you the best of luck and hope you stay safe during these terrible times.

  4. Greetings Cody & Maria. That’s a good plan to get the girls to safety.

The Canadian forces are coming to establish control, order and relief support in Jacmel according to an article in our paper.
The military has two frigates en route to Port-au-Prince and is considering diverting at least one to Jacmel, sources say. The ship would remain offshore while Sea King transport helicopters ferry aid and materiel ashore.

The airport is being investigated now by engineers to determine whether it is suitable for landing C-130 Hercules transports. Also, engineers are investigating the now impassable road between Jacmel and the capital, Port-au-Prince, to ascertain how quickly it can be repaired.

  5. Our Haiti Missions team who were over at Mission of Hope when the quake hit were at the airport in PAP and hoped to get out o a flight back to Montreal overnight if they didn’t get bumped. All 56 in the group were safe.
