Info about sending us support in Haiti

To the many many friends and family of ours who want to help us in Haiti,

First of all, to those who have not yet heard…we are safe and our home has not been damaged. Many in our community have lost homes as well as loved ones. It is catastrophic. We are spending our days feeding many people who are displaced right now and trying to bring them hope. We fed over 75 yesterday and plan to feed over 100 today. We thank the Lord that He has spared our lives and our home so that we can focus our efforts on helping others who are in great need. Once the initial chaos has cleared, we will focus more of our attention on helping to re-build homes, schools, orphanages, churches, etc.

Many of you have been asking how you can help, where you can send money, what you can do, etc. so I just wanted to send a post to everyone we know via email to let you know what is the best way to help us.

It is complete chaos in Haiti right now. Sending supplies would just take way too long. As of now, the road to Port au Prince from where we are in the south is not passable, so we don’t even know when we would be able to get up to the place where supplies are shipped in. Therefore, financial donations are the best, and really the only way, for us to get help to the people.

Here is the giving information:

Checks should be made payable to our mission board, Global Outreach International www.globaloutreach.org In the check memo, please write “Whittaker Earthquake Fund”.

Please keep us in your prayers as well as the people of Haiti. God bless you all.
